2019 Tasmanian Off Road Series Opener

Posted Thursday, 11 April 2019

This weekend Off Road Racing in Tasmania will hit the track for the opening round of the 2019 Tasmanian Series.

As the Supercars leave Symmons Plains, off road teams are preparing to head to the home of Tasmanian Motorsport for their first look at the new look 3.5km short course circuit.

The Tasmanian Off Road Car Club has spent the off season developing the new venue and extending the original track to now cover more of the property. Two high speed straights have been added, several additional jumps and a new section joining the motocross track to the top paddock have made huge improvements to the original layout for both drivers and spectators.

Ten entries have been received for this weekend’s opener including current state series winner Chris Branch from Hobart.

Branch will no doubt be the man to chase, however, fellow Pro Lite driver, Chris Boon and SXS turbo driver Luke Morris will be hot on his heels.

Racing gets underway Saturday at 10.00 am, entry is free for spectators and there will be hot food available at the canteen.
