46th Tasmanian Tas Sand Enduro Days Away
Posted Thursday, 1 November 2018
This weekend the North West Off Road/ARB Tas Sand Enduro will continue as Australia’s longest running off road event heading into its 46th year of continual racing on the iconic Peron dunes in St Helens.
This event will also be the decider for the 2018 State Series. The series has come down to a two-horse race between the Hobart based teams of Chris Branch and Michael Stalker. Ten points separate the pairing and with twenty points on offer Branch sits in the box seat to take out his first outright series in his V6 Nissan Pro-Lite. However, he will have the pressure applied from Stalker in his Yamaha YXZ, the side by side pilot finding more and more speed out the Yamaha every time it hits the sand.
Racing starts midday Saturday for the first of two heats, followed by three more 100km heats on Sunday.
Admission for spectators is free all weekend and the TORCC will have a canteen with hot food available in dunes all weekend.
